ok, i am going to be building a computer with an intel p4 3ghz prescott core processor. i want to overclock my computer, but i know absolutely nothing about overclocking. i need to start from rock solid bottom, tell me everything, all my options.

i want to overclock my cpu, my ram, and my video card, HOW? when i buy my motherboard does it come with BIOS pre-installed, or do i buy it seperately? how do i get a new BIOS? how do i update my BIOS? does it matter which BIOS i have? which BIOS is best for which motherboard? what motherboards r good for overclocking?

what is a multiplier? how do i change it? how do i change my voltage for my cpu, my ram? how do i get my fsb higher?

lets talk ram! what's all this i see about ratios 3:2, 5:4, 1:1? what does it mean, how do i change it?

anything i might have missed tell me about it! i need to know everythbing there is to know about overclocking!!! im good with computers, its just i havent seen answers on how to start from rock solid bottom, all of u r experieneced overclockers who know this stuff, i would like to know too!

if all these questions get answered this thread might make a good sticky

You will have to do some research on google for componets, cpu, mobo, ram, psu, cooling, people can recommend stuff but it may not work for you, and then it comes what you want to pay for it

Are you thinking about picking prescott, the preform little behind northwoods and produce almost the same amount of heat or more,
