Hi just registered here. Ok, so I built my computer about a year ago. Nice case, soyo kt400 dragon ultra mobo, amd athlon 2400+, pc3200 ddr ram(I know its not working at full speed, but might as well have it for later), gf4 mmx440 and some other junk. Nothing too bad besides the graphics card. I just got a radeon 9800 pro, 256-bit I didn't get screwed, today in the mail. Installed it and ran 3dmark01. With my old gf4, I got 3200 about, and with this new card, I got around 10900. While it's a really nice increase, I was hoping for more than that. I've been told the motherboard/cpu are bottlenecking it and that thats as good as I'll get with those two, but I just want to make sure. Pretty much give me any advice or ask anything to see what else I could do, there is so much crap I could name there is no point. But one thing I do notice, on the site looking at my score, and in the screens for the ati display driver etc, it says "agp speed off" and 4x and 8x are black meaning I could use those, but everytime I select one and restart it still says off. If any of you guys have ANYTHING that you think would help, let me know. If not, guess I'll have to save and buy my friends asus/barton 2500, he wants A64. Oh and just so I don't have to hear the comment again, when I bought my processor the barton core wasn't out yet, or just recently come out and I had the parts I wanted to buy a month or two before I got them so I didn't go looking for it. Thanks for any help

i'd say that you got 1/2 the problem solved by knowing that the rest of your system is bottlenecking your card. as for the agp off thing: check the bios to see that agp is turned on/ set to 4x or 8x.

since 2k1 is mostly system based, the more you increase your system performance (oc) the better your score will be. so get your pc up to full speed and you'll see a nice improvement

10k is way, way, way, way too low for that system. I'd suggest doing a fresh reinstall of Windows. It's a good habit to get into when changing video card manufacturers.

I don't know. There is no agp part in the bios that ever has the numbers, i.e. 4x/8x etc..There is stuff for fast write, opening size, and a few other options. I checked the entire thing. And yeah, I've thought about formatting. Will just be a pain to do it.
