From reading reviews/searching, I gathered that the barbs are rather close if using 1/2" ID. Considering it's now the cheapest GPU block, anyone have any experience with them especially how high the clearance is (hopefully more than 1/2")?

From reviews i've seen it can clear ramsinks. You can use thinwalled 1/2" i suppose, securing it with zip ties should be ok.
I've got a similarly laid out block (the twinplex), and with thick-walled Tygon i had to cut a 'flat' on the end of the tubes - i made the cut across the wall of the tube. Its fits very well :) (and it's a ***** to remove..)
