View Full Version : Fans, intake or exhaust?
I just purchased a watercooling kit from dangerden. I have 2 85 cfm fans 1 on each side of the radiator. The radiator is mounted up high inside the case so that I can keep the pump inside on the bottom. Right now the fans are drawing air into the case with a slot cooler and a 80mm fan exhausting. Would it run cooler if I had the radiator fans exhausting and cool air coming in from the bottom? I wanted to ask first cuz it's a pain to pull everything apart if it will only run hotter. Thanks

Cooler air in = cooler water going out. So, yes, it would help. And yes, I do know the pain of moving everything around, but I think you'll find it worthwhile.
Actually, I think that just having the radiator pull air from outside the case would do you the most good. Wouldn't matter a ton, then, where you had it. :)

Probably not. As you probably know, warm air rises, and since the radiator is probably located right above the processor, the air will be fairly warm. If it draws air from outside the case, chances are that the air will be cooler, and the water will be cooled more
It is currently drawing air from the outside through the radiator but it is up high, above the psu and exhausting down low through a slot cooler and 1 other fan. Thats why I was wondering if it would run cooler reversed. Thanks for your advice I think now I'll just leave it the way it is.
