Ive got a question, sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, but to me, this overlaps on a few different subjects...

I can't get diablo 2 to play in my machine, its an original, not a copy, I only have a tdk 12/10/32 hooked up right now, but it plays all my other games just fine (tropico, sims, starcraft, etc)

It only does this with diablo 2 Ive tried a full install, and just a single install, but nothing, Ive even tried registering it, but nothing.......... I load the disc and the start screen goes up, then it goes right back to the desktop.. is it because im only using the tdk to read the disc?? and help will be appreciated... I'm feel like im going through withdraw............ can't...live...without...Diablo 2 ............. (the kicker is i don't want to mess with the exp. pack till i get this figured out)
thanks again and sorry if i put this in the wrong place

maybe getting the latest drivers for you card and directx8 could solve the problem. also, download the latest patch (that would be 1.08 and 1.09 is coming out tomorrow).

try instaling it from your reader

not on your burner

Try the latest drivers for the Radeon (NOT the experimental ones), and update your DirectX. That might solve the problem.

con someone post there experiences with directx 8 If I remember correctly that there was some talk here in the forum about directx 8a or something like that that would have problems with some games, or vice-versa.......... and that some people switched back to direct-x 8?? Im i correct on this ?? I believe the thread wasn't that long ago.........

I had problems with the game getting jerky every once in a while. I obtained a "no cd" crack and loaded the *.mpq files to the hard drive. The problem is now gone. I did purchase the orig and expansion, I just like running from the hard drive better.

TRY THIS! Insert the install disc and switch the display adapter to 2d rendering(3d doesnt mean crap for that game) It worked for me when I was using a tnt2.

'start screen'? which one, the installation or the game itself? If it's with the game it's probably because of your vidcard or some software confilct, had the same with (please don't laugh) Fallout II, kicked some processes out of the memory, now works fine :D

I've had trouble with Via ide drivers and D2 before- try getting rid of 'em and see if that helps.
