ati rage fury pro?

i was wondering what anyone thinks of this card?
my tnt2 card is seriously damaged (it over heats at very low temps now) so i'm out shopping for a new one.
im just looking for a good stable 32 meg card for 180-200 canadian, i thought the ati ragefury pro looked pretty good, but after reading a little bit about it, i'm not to sure anymore.
any suggestions, or comments?
i have a p3 550 with a abit vh6-2 motherboard as well, and was a little concerned about any compatability issues if any one knows of any

No, do NOT get that card, I had it in one of my PC's, and it really sucked the big one :) For that price range, I suggest a Geforce2 MX400 64mb. Those are bassicly the top of the line MX's out there, and should have GREAT performance for the price.

ah ha i found a asus v7100 pro 32 meg geforce 2 mx400 for 149
but no 64 meg
any other good card you might suggest

thats alright about the 32mb thing. I would prolly go for the MX400, because it is actually a bit lower then your price range, and you should see a pretty significant gain over the TNT2 M64.

the 3d on rage fury pro is decent, but its a great all in one card, the vivo is really cool....i would suggest getting a radeon le, if over clockerd and hacked it performs like the 140$ radeon 32ddr...they have the insrtuctions and review at anandtech....

its pretty good for a vivo card, the 3d performance is not that great( about 1260 3dmark2001 points, 35-60 fps 1024x768 in quake III everything maxed out, 50 fps in unreal 800x600 everything maxed out) the 2d is awesome, and the vivo is pretty cool......myself i should be getting a gf2 pro today, and ill use this in my secondary computer, if its 3d performanc for a low price i still recommend the radeon le it'll blow my card , and the gf2 mxes out of the water at mx prices, and the ocing part is easy......

if its that good? is the raedon le better in a specific area, more fps
or just better

I had the Fury pro, it was good great vivo, and dvd playback as well as 2d video. But you can get better now.

I now have a Asus Geforce 256 DDR Deluxe 32 meg card , but I plan to sell it as I have been told it will be the bottleneck of my system. AMD 1.2 pc266 chip , 2x 256 crucial pc2100 ddr ram and MSI K7T266 Pro DDR board. I am guessing performance would be as good as MX card or slightly better, others may know more so ask around.

If you are interetsted let me know I am in Vancouver Canada , card is less than year old, full retail box with all software and warranty.

And ya the Radeon Le is pretty much the top for the low price range.

It beats all the MXs and is on par with the GTS most of the time when hacked and overclocked.

I'd definately look into it.

Seems moot after all of these other weigh-ins but I don't have a problem with mine. I don't doubt there are better cards out there (there always are) but I have no horror stories about my Rage Fury Pro. I payed $139 Canadian ($28.50 u.s.) for mine 5-6 months ago. At the time I thought it was a good price / performance deal. There's probably a better Radeon at a cheaper price out there now though.

now, is there any difference between the OEM version of the raedon le and the retail? i heard some OEM cards have lower clock speeds then the retail, boxed version

i think i'll get a blue orb to since it looks like the LE just has a heatsink.

I would Probally recommend a Vodoo 3 or Vodoo 4 I have both these cards and they are cheep and have good video quality I know they ant no geforce 2 or nonthing but right now u just cant gett a 3d card for so cheep as these. about $100 canadian will get u either 1 of these cards I have close to what u do which is a

256mb Ram
13gig + 41 gig hd
8x Sony CD Burner
54x Cd rom
Vodoo 4500
Soundblaster Live

While playing quake 3 at 1024 by 768 with max settings I get 45.5fps on average works good for the price and if u go with the vodoo 3000 u get tv out also

I dont think it would be say worth it to put a geforce 3 in ur'e computer so I would go with something half cheep. If you plan to overclock a vodoo 4 it dont overclock at all well i got the core to run 25mhz faster but not even 1 fps different but the vodoo 3 on the other had overclocks pretty well I can get an extra 10 fps by overclocking the card and it is stable at 196mhz the default for the card is 166mhz

well, i think i like the radeon le so far

does anyone have any idea what the fps is with and without hack/OC?

i cant seem to find any info on it exept i runs a 150 mhz normally and 190 when hacked and with hyperz enabled

I have the LE. I runs at 148 default clock and mine maxed out at 200 with the stock heatsink. Without the reg hack and no overclocking it got like 2100 in 3dMark2001.
