I want to mount a heatsink with fan on a chip, if I'll use super glue at the corners will I be able to remove the HSF easily enough?

It was okay for the old pentiums and K6's (with the heat plates) but I'm not sure whether it's safe for use on the fragile Athlon cores... Anyhow, you just have to give it a slight twist and the HSF will pop off -provided you haven't used too much superglue then it'll be harder. Be mindful of heavy HSFs -the superglue might not be able to hold them.
Heat will cause super glue to weaken. I used super glue to keep my tec and cold plate secure while mounted to an Alpha P3125 once. Well all was well till I removed it and found the glue was no more. The heat must have weakend it. Cause it was not holding it at all anymore. Of course the amount of heat produced by a tec is probobly a lot more then the chip you want to secure the HS too.

are you talking about a processor or some kind of other chip (southbridge, northbridge, gpu)? if it's nor a processor it'll be ok if you use superglue. don't overdo it and you will be able to remove it quite easily. and be carefull with that glue! the first time i used it, i glued my hand! :) :) it took me about an hour to get the glue off my hand. i guess you're not as stupid as i am and won't have this problem :)

should be fine for a chip but not a CPU. If you are worried use some thermal epoxy from the shack around the edges with your goop of choice in the center.

I once glued my fingers together but was lucky enough to get the glue off pretty easily ;).
I want to use this glue to glue a HSF to my video card so there I have nothing to worry about using the super glue, right?

Try this with Arctic Silver thermal adhesive:

Simply mix up as small portion using part A and part B then add a ratio of 1/3 regular Arctic Silver to the mix

Then place the thermal adhesive 'blend' on 4 corners of the item your about to affix and use regular AS2 on the rest of the surface area, should you ever decide you want to remove the heatsink, removal is easy.
Arctic Silver adhesive is definitly more thermally conductive than super glue, avoid using super glue

that is a good tip, why not just use four dabs of AS Epoxy in each corner. It would be weak enough to take off. Superglue doesn't transfer heat well, but we are talking drops here, not much at all and certainly not enough to really make a difference. Superglue and AS2 or even Shack goop is a better alternative, IMHO. BUT, that is the best tip I have seen yet on how to effectively use the AS epoxy.

My problem is I can't get the ASII in any store I visit and my family and I don't have a credit card so I can't order it online, so I think I'll use a little Super glu.
Thanks

use super glue and some thermal paste in the middle, but not just super glue.

I know that but thx anyway

If you live in the USA go to Radio Shack as William suggested, you can get Thermal adhesive there.

I used to work for RadioSach and I've never seen thermal adhesive in the store or online. Are you certain it's available?

us superglue to glue the edges of the gpu if u are trying to glue a heatsink to a gpu

i used puper glue to mount a heatsink on my northbrige (with paste) only problem is the paste i use sets when it touched super glue and when i took my heatsink off a bit of northbrige came off too
