i put some AS5 on my radeon about 2 months ago, then it went into storage cause i moved(my whole pc) and i have it out again, and its in a bad spot for air flow, but its not to bad. im also wondering what temps are dangerous for the 9800 to be at, until the as5 has time to settle in, its around 62-65c idle. i havent even tried gaming yet.

anyone else have a temp monitor on there 9800? or have an idea of what temp i should be at.

My 9800pro is around 49 - 51 degrees. Temp taken from the back of the core.

I have my temp taken from the closest part to the core on top of the heatsink. today my temps are a little better, around 59-60c, so the as5 still needs some time to break in, i hope these temps are safe.

Not bad. I've seen people posting numbers a lot higher.

I'm in the mid 50's with my XT and VGA Silencer, with the ambiant in my room around 20C. So I'd say you're just fine.

back to a 65c idle... and i went to play some unreal yesterday, i temps shot up over 71c... the alarm on my temp sensor wont go any higher then that. maybe i need to get a slot cooler or a vga silencer of some sort. i hope that the as5 and the heatsink are working fine, im sure i did a good job.
