alright heres the deal im not happy cause my pro isn't what i thought it would be here are the results you tell me what is what

in cs i get 100 fps- i could careless because its not really a graphic ***** game
bf 1942- i get like 70-100 fps. yes it does vary alot but thats usually what i get

now for the big guy
battlefield vietnam
its hard to say what i get in it because it varies so much. in intense fighting i see my fps switching between 70 and 30 alot and all between. in normal areas i get like 80 and 90 sometimes dips to 40 and 50
but this is what ****es me off.

my 5200 geforce maintained a very low fps BUT always got 30-40 ssf in EVERY map

my 9800 pro gets like 20-30 ssf. its VERY rare that it gets like 8 or 16 ssf which is what its suppose to get.
is has once or twice but i dont know why i keep getting 20-30 now!

overclocking doesn't do much either. even with the settings 420/370 i only get a slight improvement

my 3d scores aint nothing to brag about. even overclocked i get like 11800 maybe 12k if im lucky.

im thinking its my sucky comp.
2.0 ghz
512 ram

what is your opinion?

AND are those fps and ssf good?

Well your CPU deff isnt up there with the high end ones. BF1942 is also more cpu dependant, so a faster CPU would deff help there. I heard BF:V didnt run very good with ATi cards, im not sure though. C-S is like a 5 year old game, dont worry about how many FPS you get. I think that games max is 100 anyways, unless you edit some files, or you could have vsync on. Also, what levels of AA/AF are you using?

Did you use drivercleaner? Nvidia drivers left on your system dont play nice with ati. Even if you ininstalled them, they can cause problems. Drivercleaner is the minimum I'd recomend, reformat is what I suggest.

Also, are you using catalyst 4.6?

I think everything looks all right considering the CPU. 12k is about as much as you can get with a 2 gig P4.

Didnt see the 3dmark part, but yeah, like Gautam and I said, its your CPU. What motherboard do you have? You might be able to pick up a nice 2.4C if it supports it. Also, DL the 4.6 Catalyst drivers from www.ati.com.

To recap I think you're running right about where you should be.

For best results (generalized, not just this case here), run DC3 in Safe Mode, as it'll get everything that way. ;)

Even that wouldnt help a ton. You would def see an increase in your scores, however the 2.4c is a much better chip than the 2.0 which is prob either a 2.0a or b. Anybody correct me if Im wrong.

What kind of computer is this? If its a dell or something, I doubt they would have good cooling on that CPU, but you might be able to hit 2.2 with an unlocked bios? Im not sure, i've never OCed a retail computer :-/

im thinking it would just be the bottleneck of your PC holding up the card..

i got my 9800pro when i had an XP2200.. and only a 333FSB board.. and noticed huge improvements after getting an XP2500 and o/c it to 2.2GHz (XP3200).. and got a 400FSB board..

also.. cats might get better benchmark scores. but for gaming, i prefer the Omegas.
