Far Cry Help Needed (Single Player - Begining)

Hi,

So thanks to the forum, I picked up Far Cry & it is great! I am really enjoying it & the graphics are kick ass!

Anyway, so I am playing in the begining & I swim onto a shipwrecked boat, find my girlfriends stuff & am told to go find a boat. When I get to the top of the shipwreck, a helicopter comes & kills me quickly, or the other guys running around on deck do a number on me as well.

Is there something I am missing here, or do I just stink & cant kill the guy in the helicopter.

Kill the guy in the helicopter first then focus on the other enemies. Just kill the gunner and the helicopter will go away. I'd suggest kneel/lay down to get a more accurate shot at him to drop him quicker if you weren't doing that already.

Yep, just stay behind the cover of the boxes after you pop up from the hatch. The boxes will keep you from getting fragged by the baddies on the deck of the carrier. Take out the gunner of the chopper, and it'll go away. Remember to keep low, and focus on killing one guy at a time. Bear in mind that you are almost completely surrounded, so try to keep yourself under a good amount of cover as you slowly maneuver your way around the boxes and barrels to individually pick off each merc. Once your clear in your immediate vicinity, you can branch out from there, but just remember that there will be mercs on both ends of the deck that aren't in your line of sight till you get closer up, so try to keep yourself under cover. ;)

That was a tough battle. Took me 2 or 3 times to get through. ;)

try to get to the minigun on one stack of boxes, knock down the movable boxes and waste them all with the minigun..

man you think this part is hard...you aint seen nothing yet! :cool: but ya kneel infront of the crates so the mercs behind you cant hit you ..pwm the chopper and alls you really havta worry about after the chopper is a guy w/ a minigun directly behind from where the chopper comes from. then after their all dead shoot the chains off the inflatable boat and hop in!.

This is just a nice foreshadowing of the rest of the game. You just keep on getting killed to you figure out just the way to get it right. It gets annoying after a while, but its still fun.

Ignore all that lol, whip out the m4/colt/m16 and lead the gunner in the heli a little. Then you spray, trust me, you have plenty of ammo. Just wait till you meet your first trigen. I peed my pants.

I'm playing the game on the 'realistic' difficulty setting without AI autobalance. Pretty hard but I got past that scene. Just kill the gunner and the chopper leaves, then camp behind the boxed, and lean around the corner and spray them with ur m4. Don't bother about the single shot, spraying works the best.

single shot works well with the silenced mp5 if your just stealthing through an area...when it comes to teams of mercs chasing you the guns simple have too much of a dodgy firing cone to make single shot worth your time.

I didnt find realistic that challenging, infact the only thing that seemed to bother me were the monkey trigens, can be quick and if they jump right at you they are pretty sure to get you with a swipe and then its over...all other enemys pretend they are smart and run behind cover, however neglecting to think that if all 5+ of them rushed you, you really wouldnt have a chance

Ugh, the monkey tridgens are a pain in the ass on any difficulty level. ;)

Not when u know how to use the jackhammer and blow them in the opposite direction.

Oh yea, but they're still a p.i.t.a., at times, even w/ a fully loaded jackhammer, and moreso if you're lower on ammo and there are 3 or 4 of those buggers hopping all around you. ;)
