I have never RMAed a mobo before but I have RMAed other parts before. I always sent back to the manufacture. Who is better/easier to deal with?

I'd go with newegg. I've just rma'd my board to them and it's on the way back right now. It took two days for them to finish what they had to do. (the first day they get it, they say they've recieved it, then they say they've opened it, then they say they shipped it off.) I've also rma'd a board to the manu. before to be repaired (meaning they sent the same board back) but that was only because the socket fried and I knew newegg wouldn't take it back.

How come you don't just do it online? All RMA requests automatically get accepted. As soon you hit hit request, it gives you the RMA number.

yeah newegg will get it and then send you replacement right away. With Abit however, you can (for 7 dollars + 150 deposit....you get the deposit back not the 7) have them ship the next day and when you get the board you put your old one in the box and send it back, when they get it you get your 150 back. Otherwise it's 2 weeks sometimes more from Abit to get your board back. If your impatient (like me) do the 7 dollar thing, otherwise go through newegg!

Because according to their website they have a 15% restocking fee for RMA's. From what from I understand if you call them you can get around that. I don't mind paying shipping for an RMA but I am not going to pay a restocking fee.

Thats for a return.
I'm a moderator over at Abit's Forum, just so you know my point of view.
I'd say, RMA the board back to Newegg, just because you'll get a new board back.
Abit's RMA policy is very good, but you'll still get a repaired used board back. Newegg sends new boards.
