All of my AMD machines have been trying to get WUs for a couple days now. I thought it had to do with that server upgade mentioned over on the folding forums... Nope. Apparently the GAH servers are "empty." I halted, went into my client.cfg and changed the client type to 1 and now all my AMD boxes are cooking again.

Looks like they are just concentrating on the faster boxen to get the best bang for their time. My PIII duallie has been empty too. I can't put it on FAH or it will get clogged with one of those huge tinkers for over half a month. That's if it can even finish 'em.
They're supposed to change the gah designation to something else with the next client update.

Why did you have it on G@H, that's mostly for the SLOW computers that don't make the deadlines, like 400 Mhz and lower.

It might be because with the G@H setting you got an additional question asking if you wanted to minimize network use or something like that. If yes then you basically got cached wu's. I found this by chance once when I was setting it up on a slower laptop to fold.

Because there was a thread around here a month or so ago that suggested setting AMD boxen to GAH in an attempt to get more Tinkers. That worked for me for a while, where my AMD boxes were blowing through Tinkers and my Intel boxes were chewing up Gromacs. But alas, no more. Back to GAH.
I thought they Ending the G@H project. There was a thread her like back in January that said the G@H didn't show enough progress and funding was getting cut. Maybe that's why you can't get any more work.

GAH clients were shifted to "timeless tinkers" which had no time limit and were meant to be used by computers that were too slow to fold normal protiens (like P166's and K6's), and it appears they've run out of those.
