I have the EPoX 8K7A+ and 2 sticks of Crucial 256 meg pc2100. I was getting a lot of illegal operations and when ever I would play a demanding game I would get freezes/crashes/ and get kicked back to the desktop.

I ran Norton Hardware diagnostic with both sticks in and got and error saying something like "error at address ############" (I don't reamember the numbers it was like 150......). So I took the stick out of slot 2 and retested, no error. Than switched the sticks in slot 1, no error. Tested each stick in slot 2, no errors. Than Put them both in, got the error, switched them, still got the error.

Anybody know what is causing this? I tried setting the bios mem timings like this as recomended:

16
8
8
3
8
2.5
3

I also tried bumping the voltage from 2.6v to 2.7v.

Hope y'all can help out, Thanks.

Sometimes mainboards are finicky about their Ram slots. However, I don't know if your particular mobo has a problem with this.
