Which O/S is newer and better
Windows 2000, or ME ?

ME is newer I think but it all depends on what you want to do with it. Gaming, I would stick with 98 or ME, but you can't beat Win2000 for stability.

I believe that Windows ME came after Windows2000 however newer does not mean that it is better, these OS have major differences and any recomendation must take into consideration your system specifications and what your PC is used for

I run mostly basic home stuff, Quicken, AOL, Video COnferencing.
Which one is better in an O/C environment? Which is faster?

ME, I believe, is just a development of 98, still a DOS based OS. Should run everything fine. 2000 is based on the NT Kernel, a pure Windows platform, no loading Windows from DOS at startup etc. For home use ME would probably be more useable, especially if you like tinkering.......

windows ME is not windows 98 and was designed for the home market. 2000 and XP share a common core and represent a more robust upgrade path.
