I want to get a duron and well I'm on a really low budget right now so I'm wondering which duron would be better to overclock... the 700 or the 750?
i dont no about the duron 750 but i got a Duron 700 and i got 933 out off it no problem thats with out changing the multiplyer all i did was set it to 7x133 and it worked thats with a Vcore of 1.75 :)
so if you unlocked the multiplyer i could probably get a gig! (i think)
but im waiting until i by my 1gig t-bird

Lore has it that the 750's have always been dogs.... if you're really wanting a good OC (percentage-wise) an AKBA cored 600 or 650 is your best bet. But the 700's are the cheapest on Pricewatch right now so that would be the direction I'd go if you're on a super tight budget. My 700 got to 970.

AKBA is the tops, but probably tough to find, i bought a 650 blind on a fs/ft forum as a backup chip - paid $32 shipped for it and lo and behold it is a AKBA and it does 1.22ghz water cooled at 2v.

I have a Duron 600 that reliably does 1050. (A7V, 8K7A)
It was to my pleasant surprise multiplier unlocked from the factory.

I assume it's against the rules to post offers of sale here.
It's currently laying around unused.....;)

I just bought a 750 and am having a time just trying to get it to 900.
I have a very LAME Duron 750. All I use the cpu for is testing....you know when you just have to try out some crazy idea and don't want to risk a good cpu :) In order to get it over a gig I had it chilled to -23C running at 2.4 volts! A friend of mine also had a bad one it might be better to stay away from the 750's just in case.

umm ken what was the code on it and all?
i have a 700duron it was good...i burned it in for about 1year at defualt speed till i realy started to extreme o/c since i allready had the 1ghz tbird here is my info..
700Duron B(200)
AKBA-9 Week 27, 2000
when i first got it my hsf i dont think was capible of 900+ since it was getting way way wya too hot....the most icould get out of it and my asus A7V rev1.01 was 9.5x102=969MHz
then 2 weeks ago i pushed it the the max...it wouldnt boot at 10x100 or 10x95 or 10x90 so it just HATED 10x multiplier LOL but i ended up gettting it to post at 1016Mhz but i think my 250w PSU dident have enough power becuase it wouldnt even start to (think) start loadign windows.... for some odd reasons i had some odd problems the highest i could get itno windows at with out any crashes was 978Mhz then with CPUFSB i FINETUNED it to 1014Mhz anything higher then 1014.25Mhz would lock up with in1min so i kept it at 999.98Mhz the closest i could get it to 1ghz hehe...
when i was doing this i was tring to be carefull and compiensate for my garbage 500~900Mhz HSF(no limit on box) so i had a table top fan (13inch)sitting beside my computer on full blast probly adding like 100+CF/Min that kept it cooler but it was still realy hot to tuch..as far as i know this is a good Code if u can find it u should be able to get more out with a better heatsink and 300psu and a baord that support 133bus heh...have fun.

well im another to advise the 600 duron, true its smaller but they have a good rep for O,Cing more than the others
I would recommend the Duron 650 with AKCA/AKBA cores. They are wonderful overclockers as I can get my 650 right to 1030 Mhz, 1.88 VCore using WBK38.
