I have obtained a pump from an old aquarium but it is lame to be honest i could pump more with a 10ml syringe refilling it etc between water lol :)..

Mag drive pumps are nice, they usually make only slightly more noise than the regular ones. Usually nothing more than a low hum though. Either will siut you fine, just make sure it's a good brand (most good brands come with a 2 year warranty). Enhiem is probably one of the best, especially for an inline system. Rio's higher end pumps aren't bad if your going to submerge the pump in a resevouir. Most Mag drive pumps work well either way. I think most are made by Danner too. (It'll say on the box)
As far as GPH, it will depend on how much head the pump has to deal with. The higher it has to pump the water, the more power it'll need. 350+ gph is usually enough for most systems. Anything over 700 is probably overkill, it won't hurt your temps at all, just your wallet. 250 gph is probably the minimum you should consider for your system. (it also depends on the size of you radiator and your average ambient temps).
A good place to look for pumps would be pet stores that deal with large saltwater setups. Or stores that sell supplys for fountains and outdoor water gardens and Koi ponds.
I'm not really sure what is available in the UK so I'm no help there. =]
I have a Maxi-Jet 1200 and its great. It puts out a very quiet 295 GPH and the price is right at about $20 shipped. You can use the pump in an inline or a resivoir setup. If you do an inline setup you will have to use some sealent around the pump but its not very tricky.
