Viewsonice E773 Help

Hey guys I have a Viewsonic E773 here and the brightness on it is really bad. At start up I can see next to nothing on the monitor until I hit the Windows XP loading screen. I was wondering what might be able to do to fix this. I have the brightness turned up all the way and so too is the contrast. I'd increase the gamma in Windows but as I live in the bios this really does nothing to help me. I was told that I might be able to open the monitor and adjusting the brightnes setting there.
