What a great title...(im hilarious :D )

Im trying to enable japanese input on Win ME, but it doesnt seem to like it. Ive installed the japanese global IME(right?), all the instructions ive read tell me im sposed to get a language button on the task bar, but i dont get one. Am i missing something or what?

Also reading up on the language packs, it enables input for office and IE, but what about stuff like AOL(just keeps getting worse, i know...) and AIM.

Any and all help appreciated, thx.

lmao, great title :)
What I say applies to XP, but should probably be similar on ME.

Go into the Control Panel, and find the "Regional and Language Options" icon. On XP, there is a tab called "Languages" where it has an option for "Text Services and Input Languages". If you click on the Details button, you are greeted by a dialog box listing all currently installed keyboards (...I don't know how to explain it any other way. On a default install, it'll only have English and then a US Keyboard mentioned). Anyway, a button at the bottom labeled "Language Bar" should have all the options needed to get it showing up.

I've never used Windows built in ability to use foreign languages with this keyboard (I use a japanese word processor and just copy/paste what I write :D), but from what it says, it looks like you should be able to type with it in any application that supports Unicode.

Alright, i tried out what you said. Didnt work :(

I have a win 2k box right here that has the input languages tab, but the ME one doesnt, so i did a help search, found some "keyboard properties" this has a language tab, but the drop down list there doesnt have japanese!!

Did find some software that translates a little, dunno if it works too well(cant read it, doing this for a friend). Maybe ill hafta convince them to upgrade to XP or somethin...
