Hi all

My current system is as follows: 2xP166MMX, 64MB,4GB SCSI. I am running Win2k Server (don't ask.I cant get plain win2k) and I'm wondering if there is anything I can disable to bring down memory use. I dont need any of the services, so can I disable them and what must I disable? I want the machine to be like a plain Win2k workstation as it isn't going to be a server.Any ideas?

Thanks
Andre

There isn't much that you can remove that makes that much difference in memory usage. even though M$ sets the minimum requirement for win2k at 32 meg the practical minimum is more like 128 meg of ram. Yoy would be better served trying to get another 64 meg of memory. If that is not possible here is a page where you will find some tweaks. There is a short list of services that can be removed from loading but it doesn't release mutch memory. http://www.tweak3d.net/tweak/

Thanks for the help man. Win2K's ticking over nicely now. If you know ayone who has a simila problem, get them to conatact me and I'll tell them what to disable, uninstall etc. Now if I could only get one of those TB1.2 and 256MB DDR........
