View Full Version : Boinc Utilities - Get Them Here
With Boinc building up a little steam I think we should start a thread devoted to add-on programs. At the moment the selection is fairly small, in fact I know of only one good program at the moment, and that's Boinc View. Some of you may be familar with a program called Seti Watch, well this does about the same for Boinc. It lets you monitor your clients on a lan, and via RPC you could even monitor a remote client, although I don't recommend opening your firewall for it. Here's a screen shot of mine. It has several tabs as you can see, and even though this is a beta version it's working quite well for me. As other programs become available lets try to post them here so we have everything in one place.

I think this is a great idea. I am thinking of turning one machine over to Boinc just to see what it is all about.

Sir Ullli
I am right to think there's no program available for externally caching WUs for the BOINC client?
The way the built in caching works doesn't make much sense to me. Why have a cache if you run it till empty before refilling it?
Well once they get their bandwidth issues fixed it won't run until empty. It should maintain your cache level. Mine was working fine until they got bogged down.

Thanks for the link TC (& Jig PU)
Its a nice prog, I have it working now (for once, BOINC is actually WORKING!).
I really like the ability to monitor my clients remotely.
BTW, I checked it in Taskmanager - it uses up to 3% processor power to do it checking thing, so I recommend to all you out there that you set it to 10-30 secs refresh time so you dont use up to much of SETI precious CPU time.

I can't get this BoincView to access my networked drives. They are shared and accesssible through "My Computer". What am I doing wrong?
EDIT: I figured it out.

BOINCView (http://boincview.amanheis.de/)
kann also look via GUI RPC
BOINCLog-X (http://www.bjoernhenke.de/frame.htm?/boinclogx/index.en.htm)
In addition to the main log files "sah_boinc.csv" (SETI@home-II) and "ap_boinc.csv" (AstroPulse) it creates log files with detailed information about the results (sah_boinc_spike.csv, sah_boinc_gaussian.csv, sah_boinc_pulse.csv, sah_boinc_triplet.csv) of each WU.
and also shows the AR :)
BOINCSpy (http://www3.telus.net/BoincSpy/)
