can some one walk me throughhow to install and run the linux client? i cant seem to get it to work right. i down loded the client, then i extracted all the files from the .tar.gz using the arciver utilty, then i dubble clicked of the fahclient executable, and it created all the files (client.cfg ect.) but no termnal poped up. what did i do wrong? it says to open it using some termnal, but witch one and how?

wahooooo!!!!! i did it! i used the "run" command and selected "run in termnal" :) im so happy lol
Let us know how fast it runs.
I've heard that the fah client might be a little slower under linux due to the fortran compiler being less good than the windows one.

The Linux client is about 30-40% slower than the Windows one for a DNA Binder Mimic. That's the last time I've done a comparison. I did a frame in 3:30 in Windows and 5:00 in Mandrake 8.

That sounds about right - 5 hours on Linux for me versus about 4 under Win2k with a large protein.

yah, mandrake 8is like 800% better then 7.4. it is a little slower but not by mutch. my pIII500/64mb box is getting like 7-10 min/frame
