Another noob looking to the veterans for support! CPUcool, CpuFSB; sisoft Sandra. Useful to the noobie trying to learn to overclock? I have a p3 800mghz Dell (I've read the Dell threads) I've read the mobo sticky...CpuFSB will raise my FSB but it lowers my CPU speed (mutiplier 8). Do I bother trying to learn overclocking on this machine or not? It's not worth frying, it's 6 yrs old and works like a top...
thanx

OC is always worth it.. if you use the computer.

If You don't want to do any upgrades, but just want to overclock it, I wouldn't turn up your voltage much, see how high you can get just by turning up the fsb.

Yes, I've upgraded most things but not the mainboard. I have been boosting the cpu up (using PLL in cpuCool or cpuFSB) and when I reboot the settings are gone. I merely wanted to see if I could boost the cpu speed. Am I wasting my time? The PLL (ICW w149A) is reported back as an unknown and as write only.
