So this past week, I got NAILED big time w/ virii, and ended up having to reinstall WinXP after realizing almost all of my programs had been wiped clean off my hdd.

Anyway, I get to the point where I'm reinstalling all of my games. When I attempt to install the DC .7 full install, the setup app just hangs there. I can see what looks like a 1px x 1px window dead center on my desktop, and clicking on the "DC Setup" icon on my task bar brings that tiny window to the front. It actually will make progress if left alone, but it takes a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. I can normally close it (rt click -> close) or end the task through the Task Manager. But when I do that, I recieve an error telling me that "Cannot locate xxxx module." I say "xxxx module" b/c it will fail to locate whatever the next module is, depending on where the setup's progress is at.

It's not the long install time that burns me up. What p***es me off is that it eats up 100% of my CPU cycles.

I'm attempting to install it on the computer listed in my sig. I've got BF1942 fully updated to v1.6. I had DC .5 installed as well, but I was still getting the same result.

I've tried downloading the setup file from many different sites (gamespot.com, fileplanet.com, fileshack.com, etc). Each individual download of the setup file gives me the same result. I'm getting pretty annoyed here, since I've been itchin to play a bit of DC lately w/ some of the [OCG] boyz.

Anyway, any help/advice you might be able to give will be much appreciated. ;)

Not sure exactly what the problem was... it must have been a software conflict. DC doesn't use install sheld to extract itself. So I think McAfee might have blocked it from installing. I booted into safe mode and had no problem installing it from there. ;)

You should come play w/ the [OCG] DC team... they're currently 5-0 on the Proving Grounds ladder. So, I'm not sure how much beating you'll do, but it'll be fun either way. :D
