Hi,
This is my first post anywhere.
I've been reading all the postings here on cooling and got alot of good ideas. So here it goes.
I built a

Tyan mb s2390b
1.2 amd t-bird
geforce2 mx400 64mb
SoundBlaster pci512
256 mb cas2 memory
2 Hd's Master 20g Wd 7200rpm
Slave 8.1g maxtor
48x cdrom
Yamaha 8x4x24 cdrw
300W power supply

O.K when I first started the pc with just the coolmaster HSF and
1 3" case fan pulling in air my cpu was running 65c to 70c and max.
I have now installed a twin turbo 5.25 bay fan that sucks out and it brought the temp down to 50c to 58c max.And my case temp is about 30c.
Are these good temps?
I was looking into the new dragon orb 3 or maybe that case fan
on the 2coolpc site.
Any Ideas or suggestions.
Thanks

those aren't awful temps for a coolermaster, but with a good heat sink you can get better. The dragon orb is a pretty good heatsink, but the glaciator and the SK-6 with delta are much better. One of those with some Artic silver two and the Turbo on the 2coolpc should set you good with temps.

I think your temps are a little high. How is your powersupply fan set up? Does it pull air into the case? Or does it exhaust air out the back? If it is pulling air into the case, I would switch the fan so it exhausts out the back-that way you are not filling your case with warm air. What is the Ambient temp? Are you using thermo grease or the thermo pad? I dont really like the heatsink, and I would change it asap.
I dont think I would go with the dragon 3, read the review here. (http://overclockers.com/articles427/) I think I would go with a Millenium Glaciator, read Joes review here. (http://overclockers.com/articles425/) Mr. B also has a good article here. (http://overclockers.com/articles433/) One thing to remember if you do use the Glaciator-be sure to remove it, if you transport the computer, it is very heavy and lug damage may result.

Thanks for all the tips!
My powersupply fan is taking the heat out.
I'm going to read up on the Glaciator hsf and the others everyone recommened.
The Glaciator looks sweet!
Thanks again
