Morrowind wont run

I have been playing shooters for a while and decided to try out RPG and went with morrowind. My problem is that it installed fine but when I try to start it, it opens a small box then windows gives a error an shuts it down. I'm running XP pro on my P4. I have a 9500pro and a PCI MX2 200 set up with 3 monitors. I installed the patch from the morrowind site but still have the same problem. I running the most current cat drivers, 4.6 any help would be great, I really want to try this game out.

Do you have the two expansion packs, Tribunal and Bloodmoon? If you have Bloodmoon, I suggest just installing the Bloodmoon patch, not any of the others.

I had a problem something like that with Morrowind. Try using the Omega drivers. I don't know why, but I can't get it to run with the regular Cats, but with the Omega drivers it runs fine.

Thanks Ill have to try the omega's then. That makes sense because I did get it to run if I went in to the setup and set it to use the Geforce card instead of my ATI card.

Tried the omega drivers, didnt work. It will only play on the Nvidia PCI card, crashes on the ATI. I'm going to try and install it on another one of my machines and see how it works.

i have never been able to get morrowind to run correctly on any of my computers ... tried it on 5 different ones.

I've had some problems with my nvida and Morrowind running, but the ATI runs fine. Can't think what your problem might be though, did you try upgrading to the latest drivers before you installed the omega? Make sure you clean out all the older drivers before you install new ones.

Well I just removed the nvidia pci card and the third monitor, it was causing more problems that it was worth. I totally wiped all the drivers for it and the 9500 and then installed the lastest cats. Morrowind worked like a charm then. Mixing the nvidia with the ati drivers even omega's didnt work very well. Guess Ill have to live with just 2 monitors :D 17" and 18" Dell LCD's
Thanks for the help, so far pretty cool game. Takes some getting used to, a little different than COD and Mechwarrior 4.
