Ahhh!!!! I need help and fast. I don't know what to do or what happened. Well today I went out and bought myself a FIC AZ11EA motherboard and a duron 750. I set everything up @1ghz but it wasn't stable even at max vcore 1.85. So i put it down to 933 but it still wasn't stable enough to install the drivers and my machine just rebooted all by itself. Ok so i thought I'll put it to like 700 to install everything so at the windows startup screen i powered down my psu then bam that's when it all started. I turned it back on but my system didn't come on so i pushed the power button, nothing still. I reset my cmos, still nothing. That's when i started to get worried. So i tried what i did a few more times, still nothing. So i thought it was my psu so i thought that i'll just go buy a new one but just to be sure i tried another board with another cpu and it worked!!! So i plug the psu back on the AZ11EA and still nothing! Guys did I destroy my cpu or is it my board that i destroyed? Got any ideas to fix this? Help Urgent!!!!
Sounds like u fried it to me:(
U sure the heatsink was properly attached so that it touched the cpu core....
Btw what heatsink were u using?? If u got an other socketA mobo try the cpu there then to check if it is the cpu or somehting else.

See the thing is that i don't have another socket a board only an intel. All i know is that it's not the psu. what are the symptoms of i fried board and a fried cpu? I tried running it with only the video card and cpu and ram, still nothing. I'm using a PLATINUM heatsink fan 22 CFM. It's certified up to 1.4Ghz. So if the cpu is fried would the system come on at all? If it's the board would it bee or something? SOMEONE HELPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

If the cpu is fried u will get no picture, beeps or anything. Only things that will run is the hard drives and fans and stuff like that.
U can try taking out the cpu ram everything and try running it to see if there is any beep at all from the mobo.
If u have unlocked the cpu u might try removing lead from the L1.
The last solution would be to take out the power, taking out the battery and let it stay over night. On mine the clr_cmos dosent wrk so thats the only way i can clear it:(
Hope this is any help
Your fans and stuff should come one when you press the power button.
Try removing the cpu and see if the fans will run.
If not then unplug all the extra divices from the power supply,
hard drives,floppy ect.
Then see if the power supply will turn on.
If not I guess the motherboard or the power switch is bad.

i don't know what to say i don't know if it's both or if it's just one of them but this what's happening: i push the power button there is no power anywhere. i mean zero nothing at all no picvture no beeps no fans no hard drives no nothing!!!! It's like as if it wasn't even plugged iin even though all the wires are where tthere supposed to be.Man i really want to kick this friggin computers butt. If i can't fix it i have to go all the way back to the store which is like an hour from my house. God anybody help me.

the thing is i don't want to take out the cpu cause it's so hard especially with heatsinks that have those 3 hole clips. I don't want to break the board otherwise i can't return it. the power switch on my case works fine its either the board or cpu
Thats really ODD!!! then its most likely not ur cpu which is fried.
Sound more like there is some shortcut somewhere!!
But so strange it suddently stopped working when u had it running earlier.
try unhooking any hard drives cdroms and stuff like that, if that dosent work just try to reinsert the motherboard just to be sure there arent any screws or anything that shortcuts the motherboard or anything.
Sounds like the mobo is dead or something :(

well thanks for the help anyways but i think that i'll just take it back to the store and ask them to change it. Maybe i'll get an ASUS A7V 133 instead. If you guys have got any ideas keep posting them ok.
Good luck Just tell them it was dead when u got it:)

u can try to run the computer without a heatsink for like 3 seconds.......then touch the core of cpu, if it's hot then the cpu is fine but if not then the cpu is dead

Yeah, that definately sounds like the motherboard. Sounds like it shorted out on you. If it was the chip then any fans you had pluged into the board would have still worked. It's possible the chip could have ben fried too, hopeefully it wasn't.
When you get the new one, be sure to triple check everything before you turn it on the first time. If your using a generic case then you might want to double check that it is still mounted properly and hasn't shifted at all after you have everything setup. I've lost hardware, and had friends lose hardware, to bad cases before. Good luck with the new board and let us know how everything turns out with it.
