View Full Version : Why doesn't my 1.4 cool off?
I just upgraded from a Coolermaster fan to a ThermalRight SK6 w/ Delta 38cfm fan, and my temperatures are no different (surfing the web at 56c).
My case temp is 39c (all the temps are though Asus Probe -- ugh. MBM 5 won't work).
I have one 80mm 45cfm fan for output.
Any suggestions on why this isn't cool.
Used Arctic Silver II to attach everything.

What is the temp in bios then?? If they are lower i wouldnt worry to much, since asusprobe seems to show 10c too much.
Also have u tried sisoft sandra?? It shows pretty much the right temp on my asus a7v133 board.

the temp could be off, also try to lapp the HS and make sure the AS2 is applied correctly
I'll check the bios, I have Sandra Standard, but where are the temps?

U will find the temps in cpuinfo or motherboard info

usually when its really hot outside my case temps are between 31 and 34 my cpu temps are in the 50s.but normally the case temps are between 23 and 26 (canadian summer weather) my cpu temps would not go over 45 under load and idle at 35,so maybe try to cool the case a little more it will help.

there is ur prob man: 1 FAN for output! You need at least 4 fans 2 front 2 rear (in and out) and for real preformence an axail fan is required. Even if you spent 1000 bucks on the best HSF you woudn't get any air in the fan so it wouldn't work. You need to increase airflow!!!
This PC is in our sunroom, I can't really have it sounding like a 747 takeoff the entire time it is running.
The normal temp in here is about 78 to about 83f. There isn't really much I can do about that being that it's 98 out the window and the AC only goes so far in here.
At the moment (not doing much), my case temp is 90f (33c), and the CPU is 130f (55c).
I just added a little 21cfm 60mm fan on the front of the case (it was an extra I had laying around.)
I don't want to overclock this much if any, and I want to know what I can do to get it to run cool, and quiet.
Run the machine with the side covers off if temps improve then you will need better case cooling. This can be done without the thing sounding like a jet engine. One of my machines that must be fairly quiet (in my livingroom for vid capture) I used 2 80mm Panaflow 47cfm fans. One lower front for intake and the other right behind the cpu exausting out hot air. This setup works great and will not wake the dead.
I got the fans from http://www.millisec.com
While you are at it order a complete assortment of fans from 60mm to 120mm don't forget the filters and wire grills to, you know you've got to be prepared :)
Yes, But stay away from Radio Shack 80mm fans if you want them to be quite. Thats where I got all mine from. I've got 3 of them in my system. I gotta run them at 7v's to keep it quite. Other wise it's really loud.
First of all, Welcome to the forums.
55c as reported by the ASUS Probe doesn't sound out of line on an A7V133 with an 1.4G. I've typically run in the upper 50's with a 1G @ 1.4 and the same with a DURON 600 @ 1100MHz on ASUS boards when using ASUS Probe. This program is known to report temperatures as much as 10c higher than actual.
As long as your system is stable I think you're fine. I'd watch for any unexplained increases, that would indicate a problem.
Good Luck!
