Which is better?
Kingston Value Ram PC3200
or
OCZ PC3200
The OCZ has Elixir chips 0351
n2ds25680bt-5t
23800apy
Those are the markings on it.

I do not have the markings on the Kingston but I know they are CAS3

Using on a P4P800 MB
I might overclock a bit to get to 3.0 but no higher.

Cas latency means nothing on P4's. Get which ever one has the lower trcd and trp settings

The lower what and what? How do I find this out?

Is it really worth going from 4-256mb ram Kingston's to 2-512mb OCZ?
Both are pc3200 and CAS3

2x512 would overclock better than 4x256 as it puts less stress on the memory controller.

Memory timings are generally listed like this 2-3-3-6 (cas-trcd-trp-tras). If you need more info on that read some of the sticky posts at the top of this forum. You want the middle numbers to be lower...they can be either 2,3 or 4. 2 is the best and 4 is the slowest

Ahhh thank you.
Looks like I am taking this OCZ back to Fry's

Thank you for this info.

My Kingston is a bit faster but in 4-256mb forms.
