Finding someones ip over aim?

I have someone on aim who i just started talking too, but im kinda suspicious of them that they might be someone i already know, but just using an alias. Is there a way, besides direct connecting to find their ip?

Direct connect is the only way I've heard of. Because otherwise it goes through aim servers, direct connect just eliminates the middle man (aim servers). If you can connect, go into comand prompt and type "netstat- n" their IP will be one of the ones listed. The fun is figuring out which one! :)

Yes, I made a program (and other people have as well) which gives you the IP of anyone connecting to you through port 80.

All you have to do is run the program and then send them a link with your IP adress. Example: http://172.100.166.25

When they click the link you can get there IP.

there are more efficient ways, you can get it with out direct connecting too, but we won't go into that over public forums :)

Easy. Use another port. Make a IP grabber that uses lets say port 2800.

Then send them a link to your IP on that port. Example: http://172.100.166.25:2800

I have a free website like geocities i can use. can i find someones ip address using this free web hosting? or is there a more effecient way to find someones ip address if i can direct connect with them on aim? If possible id like to find exactly who it is, knowing the city won't help cause i think they live in my city anyway. any ideas?
