Here is a good 7 way comparison of GF 3 cards. Hope this helps in your decision;

Well, all GF3's perform pretty much the same. The Shoot outs are great scources of info on teh cards and worth reading before making such a expensive investment, but in the end they will all tell you the same thing. All GF3's perform pretty much the same.
If all your looking for is gaming and aren't interested in tv in and outs and all that crap then the cards to look into would probably be:
(In no particular order)
Asus (pure version, not delux)
Gainward power pack III (w/o vivo)
Visiontech
Elsa
Hercules
Leadtek
MSI
These are all excellent gaming cards, some come with the S-Video out and some extras, but that can't be avoided.
The Morpheus is a good card too, it performs pretty much the same as teh cards above, but you pay extra for the wooden box.
I'd stay away from the powercolor since I've heard very little about it. Also stear clear of the PNY, it's the only one I've heard bad things about.
If your into overclocking then I'd recomend the Visiontek and the Gainward Golden Sample Power Pack III. Both have 3.8ns memory and are great overclockers. (I think some of the others do to but I'm not sure which.) Also, the Golden Sample comes garaunteed to overclock up to a certain point. Unfortunately the golden sample comes with all the extras you weren't interested in, but it is still relatively cheap. ($339 at Newegg.com)
Hope this helps a bit. Just choose one that you like based on whatever criteria is important to you (looks, overclockability, past experience with a company, price, etc.) and it will perform as well as any other and won't dissapoint.
Steer clear of the PNY, and other no-name bottom end cards. The lowest I'd go is the Gainward or Visiontek. I can vouch that they are good cards.
Here is a GeForce 3 round up at Toms

and here is an even better one ar Anandtech

The Anandtech review also rates image quality. check it out.

Staz, I was just going to quote your post you made to me awhile back!!
Check out those reviews, very helpful!! Be sure to check the final stats on the Anadtech review, I skimmed them and missed some good info. Soon, I will be ordering a Gainward GeForce3 Golden Sample for myself. Can't wait to retire the Voodoo3!!
Hey Staz (or anyone), quick question for ya...
Should I look at any special cooling or airflow modification for the GeForce3? Currently (a temp fix) I have a slot exhaust running one slot under my Voodoo3. I am sure I will have to move it down to make some room for the Ge3 cooling. Anything else I should look at?

go for the cheapest one, it usally means it dosnt have many extras and stuff
As I recall from the Shootout at Tom's Hardware (I couldn't find it, or I'd link to it), the Leadtek was more often than not the top dog. But not usually by much. For the most part, all three boards were pretty evenly matched against eachother. Basically, look for the features and price. They're all pretty much the same card.
I got thew Morpheous from Absolute Multimedia (www.Absolutemm.com). It comes in a nice wood box has MDK2, No One lives For Ever, and Dronez and a game of you chooice from their supplies. and a cable to hook to the TV with. If you want games this or the Elsa one with Giants is best.

Unless you really need one right now, you might want to wait a few weeks when the ultra comes out; you could probably save a decent amount then.
