sassar worm?

Windows xp kept shutting down on its own last night every time i would connect to the internet. So i installed norton antivirus 2003, (I know, i should have done this from the start) and it detected the wc32 worm or whatever it was called. So i updated norton and ran a scan but did not pick up anything. I then downloaded a removal tool from symantec's web site and still did not find the worm. It seems that it dissapeared on its own is this possible? computer is working fine now what should i do now if anything?

It sounds like, from what you wrote, that your scan found and removed it. :eh?:

If you have the latest virus definitions and have done a full system scan without any results then you should be fine. Your AV may be configured to automatically repair or remove or quaratine infected files.
