mobo/processor pkg ...overclocking?

i ordered the AI61 mobo and the athlon 800 slot -a
im ecited bit still alittle wooried about the amd thing...
can i overclock the athlon 800? thats my main question.
and if so how? ty

i dunno if it's able to overclock for your motherbaord as i never heard of it

Most of the slot Athlon's use a Gold Finger device to overclock. Not sure who carries them anymore - the ones that I had came from Step-Thermodynamics. Great device for overclocking - had my 500 running at 750. But you need good cooling.

Yeah you need dang good cooling for overclocking slot A chips (they're furnaces, even worse than some TBirds of the same era), as well as a GFD.

GFD's should be on eBay or maybe do a search on Pricewatch for "gold finger" or something.

Ifg you're looking for a fan recommendation I think a Globalwin VOS32 would probably be a safe bet for a good HSF.
