I just got a new heatsink for my P4 3.0Ghz and I was wondering if anyone has a guide on how to remove the heatsink, w/ pictures preferably.
Thanks

How is it attached to the motherboard? Clips or screws? If its clips its easy enough just look at the mechanism that latches to the heatsink latch thingers.
if its a P4, you will have to snap the retention stuff off, then it can be lifted out of the black bracket.

How to take it off? Apply pressure on the metal hinge that pulls out, then press down the hinge releaser. It should come out after a try or two.
The second one is easier to get off.
