View Full Version : AXIA v AYHJA
Can someone explain the difference between AXIA and AYHJA stepping? What is stepping? which should I buy?
AYHJAs tend to overclock better then AXIAs. If you get either one, make sure you get one of the 'Y' steppings. Both are good steppings, especially with the Y stepping.
The most overclockable CPU is the 1.0 GHz AYHJA Y. The 1.4 GHz AYHJA Y, while it won't increase as far in percentage, will reach higher clockspeeds then its 1.0 GHz counterpart.
There is a new stepping, AYHJAR, which supposedly overclocks even better then the AYHJA but it is largly untested due to the fact that it is hard to find and usually very expensive.
If money was no object, I'd go with the AYHJAR Y or AYHJA Y 1.4. If you wanna save some money and get a CPU that will overclock almost as high, get a AYHJAR Y or AYHJA Y 1.0. Also, I doubt you will be dissatisfied with the AXIA's. They're very good overclockers.

I would agree with most of this except that the 1ghz AYHJA Y is not the best overclocker. The old 1ghz AVIA-y's area great chips too if you can find one. ALL are known to hit at least 1.45ghz, I have not heard these specs for the AYHJA Y, but I guess if you couldn't find one, the AYHJA Y is a fine chip.
