Has anyone had any problems with Geforce 2MX and Asus A7V133 mobo causing the computer to freeze with all the latest drivers and BIOS ver 1008 flashed?

I have a A7V133 and a GF2MX and am not having any problems but I am not running 1008. What issues were fixed in 1008 I generally don't like to do bios updates unless there is a good reason! If there are good imporvements then I will flash and let you know the results.

I had 1004 to start with and the computer crashed a fair bit in 98se and I have updated the BIOS as the imiages became available and with the latest drivers with no luck, I think I have a duff mobo.

Are you by ant chance using the pci slot right next to the agp that the MX is in? The first pci and the agp share the same interupt which could cause a problem. Also having a card so close to the video really blocks the airflow and can cause the gpu to get quite hot. When installing the via drivers try using normal instead of turbo mode for the agp also try loading bios defaults and see if that helps. Another test is to run your system with only the video card in it just to make sure that another card isn't causingthe problem.

I have my SB 1024 in pci slot 3 and I have tried with only the graphics card and even done a clean install with only the graphics card and the problem remains, I therefore think it must be the Asus mobo. Just a thought is the Geforce 2 MX need a fan?
Thanks

I have tried all the latest drivers including 4 in 1 as well as the Detonator for the Geforce. The bios is flashed with 1008 as well.
Thanks
Phil
I had the asus a7v133 and a gforce256 from creative, in windows the system works well till I play any game.(when I play any game, the system locks up).
I updated the bios , the via 4 in 1, all the drivers...changed the cards position...and I found that my graphics card was deffective. It had a problem at the graphics card memory addressing...and my card was replaced.
