View Full Version : Buffalo PC3700 (BH-5) and volts
I have been trying to push my rig a little further but I cannot seem to get myself past the 270-275 mark with my current setup. At 270 I am running with MAM enabled and performance set to turbo, while at 275 I cannot enable MAM.
I have been thinking about doing a volt mod to my MB to see if more volts will help me push my rig. Can anyone offer up their opinion on if the mod would help me? If volt modding the board will not really offer me any more performance then I am not going to worry about and just accept that I am stuck with my current speeds.
I appreciate any advice or thoughts. Rig is listed in the sig below!

Would another option not be to wait a couple of weeks and see whether OCZ's DDR Booster does what it has been advertised to do? It is reversible, you know...
I realize that some people are handy with the soldering iron and for those, and if you are one of them, there is probably no need for the Booster.
Of course, the other option is to get rid of that crappy ram you have and get some good stuff. I would be happy to talk to you about taking it off your hands :)

Hehe, I got my BH-5 3700 sticks at the very end of the production cycle within days of it disappearing from web sites (newegg and such). So I kind of think of them as extra valuable...weird I know. :-/
I forgot all about the DDR Booster. It might be worth waiting and seeing what it can do and how much it will cost. Any word on when it will be out?
*going to look for more info*

According to the interview linked above, and from what I remember reading in the thread about it on this board, the release date was supposed to be sometime around mid July and with a m.s.r. of about $50, possibly with a lower street price (newegg, etc).
