Surprisingly, I have my 1.2 OC 1.35 (9 x 150) and my temp readings are in the sub 50C range (case open) however, I don't really trust the IWill KK266 thermo readings, so I'm assuming its in the upper 50's. Anyway, as you can see, I'm using a Volcano II and I know I need a better HSF in order to close the case... I've been doing some browsing here in the forums and I see that there are 3 really viable options for me that are relatively inexpensive for rather good performing HSFs. Could some of you with experience point me in the right direction:

Global Win WBK38 or SVC Golden Gate 30 or OCZ Gladiator (with or without Delta fan?). overclockerzstore has Gladiator without Delta fan for $20 and with Delta fan for $25. As I've never had a Delta fan I don't really know how loud it is, but if its bearable with the case closed, then I'll go for it, especially since most people agree that it certainly can blow a s***load of air... right? If its too loud , then I guess I can go without it. Yes, I'm using AS2 as well.

Is this right way to clean off cpu die? Use acetone (nail polish) then alcohol very carefully.

Hi guppie,
For me the best ways are ThermalRight SK6 and Millenium Glaciator with Delta38, it's noisy but you can use it with 7v with a simple mod, cool and more quiet.
About the other question, well I use alcohol but I don't know if it's the best way to go :D

I hope it helps you.

if you are worried about noise, the Glaciator is the choice. It has a quite fan and really can't be changed.

you dont need to care bout noise but if you get the sk6 with the delta just play racing games and it sounds like your engine is running really hard.

I use the SK-6 with an 80mm fan mounted on it. It's very quite. Also I use alcohol as well for cleaning off my cpu die and HSF. Seems to work good for me.

I have the Glaciator and it works great. It has very low noise yet it cools extremely well. I highly recommend it.:)
