Another question for power supply experts!!!

So, I have a 24-pin power supply that I wanted to use with a 20-pin mobo. I have taken off a 20-pin head from one of my dead psu's and one by one put the ones from my 24-pin in their respective positions. I left out the 4 pins that were not part of the 20-pin spec. But, it won't turn on, did I do something wrong? forget to short one of the pins? Pls help!

Try shorting the green and one of the black pins together.

Perhaps the colors are different on the 24 pin? Try jumping it and then making sure that all the voltages are right.
