Ok, on a new system build, with all updated drivers (ATI 9600XT, ABIT AI7, P4 2.8HT prescott) I tried to install Star wars Galaxies, and once I get to the third disk, I get an error that says there is a fatal error in transferring the data. Everything else has been installed fine, and the drive was wiped fresh after I installed everything. I am running Win XPPro, with all updates, and SP1 installed. I have never encountered this error before on any of my other systems, all of which are running XPPro. Any ideas on what could be causing this error? Should I re-wipe the drive and start anew?
I have installed most of my other software, and this is the only thing I am having problems with, aside from WinAmp. WinAmp is not staying connected to servers (any of them) for longer than 30 seconds when watching internet TV, or listening to internet Radio. Could these be related? Is there any new updates for XPPro that have been causing conflicts that anyone knows about? I appreciate any help you guys can give.
