View Full Version : Worth getting a V2000 over a PC60?
I have 4 harddrives in my PC60, i cant secure the drive bay because it wont push back all the way. My case over heats overclocked with 3 panaflo on high and a 120mm side intake. Is it worth switching for the extra cooling power, and the extra expandability? is the v2000 btx compatible?
thanks
ive read that the new v-series from Lian Li is not btx compatible.

Funny, I'v read it was. I guess it depends on who you read.

how about just get a pc75, sure its square and boring, but damn its beautiful gotta see it to love it.
i don't think it's worth it. i was never into big full towers cause theres too much left over space and not much mobility. never had heat issues with lian-li's before so i couldn't say but the v1000/v2000, i just wouldn't go with the big one. id pick the midtowers over the big ones anyday.
ok, i will think about the v1000

well don't let me sway you to midtowers. i just think they offer enough space and mobility from/to lan parties. if your puter is going to sit home all the time then go for the v2000. its just my opinion and most midtowers look better.

true mobility wise mid-towers are the way to go following sff. But if its stationary, mid towers are a bitch to work with especially if you have a watercooling setup. I get nervous just replacing my memory its so cramped in there. Besides i like to see all the hardware i have in there.

the V series is not for an internal watercooler!
however, if you're just running air (or external water/chilling/vapo) it's great to be able to use their smallest (v1000) and fit 6 hard drives, 3 optical drives, 1 fan controller and a floppy drive in such a small case.
you'll want to mod it slightly for better cooling though

yeh i've got a coolermaster praetorian watercooled on the way. im sure its a pain to swap stuff out but i shouldn't be doing that much. big towers just don't do it for me. i have a few hd's internal and the rest are enclosures. having 10 hds or whatever in a case just sucks when you try to carry it.
i water cool in my v2000
Post a pic in the water cooling forum if you haven’t already, cuzz I'd love to see it. If you've already posted a pic give me a link to it, cuzz once again ,I'd love to see it.
I'm a water cooler currently using a Chieftech Dragon. It was a pretty good sized case when I was just cooling with air. Now I'm looking for something bigger because I have a lot of mods planned. My case stays at home so I'm not worried about portability. Besides if you get a big case with wheels on it like the V-2000 than part of the mobility problem is solved.
The V-series of cases are beautiful. With a few easy mods they can be beautiful and even more functional for the water cooler.

yes please post pics of your v2000. the only one i've seen close is using an external system. im waiting for the v1000 to go down so i can give a try at water cooling in that small case.

the v-series is not BTX compatable, it is just a reversed ATX case, from what I have read.
thanks for all the posts
i'm not worried about mobility, although i will go to a few lans
i will probably be using the external corsair 200 watercooler and that will help with heat too so maybe the v1000 is a good bet, i doubt i will ever need 6 harddrives

i'll post a few pics when i get home this weekend. I made the decision to top mount the radiator w/ the res next to it. Its a little tight but functional.
