I was hooked up with a Gigabyte GV-R80P256D X800 Pro card through my good friends at EmicroX.com. Had to plug them since I got it for a great price. Anyhow, what is the set of numbers that I need to look for to see if this card can be hard modded to the 16 pipe version. I read somewhere that these is a set of numbers on the core that I can look at to tell. I cannot find the place now that I read it at. Can you help me out?

Thanks in advance

I took my card out and checked everything out. Here are the numbers.

R420
215RAACGA11F
GA8993.5
0416AA

Is that one of the cards that can turn on the 16 pipes? The RAM is Samsung k4j5532qf 6c20

*edit* just read the article and from what i see your card is not one of the 1s that can be changed.

Actually,
According to a comment below the article:
This is my code (HIS Excalibur X800Pro)

Line 1: 215RAACGA11F
Line 2: GA8993.5
Line 3: 0416AA

And mod works! so its not about GPU codes.

*Shrug* Give it a shot.

EDIT: Then there's another comment about the same core codes not working. Beats me.

411's and 416's are both successfully being modded. I've got the link, but it's at home.

411's. 416's.

Mine is now running at a full 16 pipes. All I did was take a razorblade and put the tip on the dots. Then I turned the blade exposing the copper under the "wax?". Then I used the old auto defogger trick and I I have the full 165 pipes.

You don't need to scrape the two points with a blade or anything like that for the mod to work. I've also successfully enabled the extra 4 pipelines on 2 GeCube X800 Pro.

If you have the yellow video connector below the molex connector, then you apparently have a XT in disguise. Also if you have the rage theatre chip on the backside of the card, then you most likely have an XT. Therefore a simply XT bios flash is all that is required if you have both of these things.

The Gigabyte GV-R80P256D is the standard pro model, I got the Gigabyte GV-R80P256V, which is the vivo model. Mine came to me with 16 pipes enabled right out of the box. I am currently waiting for my vga silencer to arrive since these cards run very hot when you start pushing them.
