I dont know if this has been done before, im sure it has, but i couldnt find anything in the posts about people stealthing cd drives with a non aluminium case (ie a plastic case at the front at least). So i decided to give it a go, since i hated the look of my white burner, and white dvd rom.

look at pic 16, 17, 18

So here is what i did

1. Grabbed the clip in cd things that come with your case.
2. Pushed my cd drives further back into the case
3. Modded the clip in things. If you have a look at yours they will have the clips on the side, and most likely a short length jutting out at 90 degress all around the front panel at the back (length will differ i imagine on different cases.)
4. removed the excess plastic at back of clip in things (tin snips and razor blade knife), so all i had was the front panel, with no more plastic sticking back at 90 degress.
5. attached two small pieces of velcro with adhesive on both ends to the cd drive (the actuall bit that comes out when you push the open button), added another small bit of velcro to the front panel (directly in line with the open button) but did not remove the paper that was on the adhesive at the back of it, this is to make sure you can open cd drives by pushing on the bottom right corner of your cd drives.
6. pushed the cd plate panel (not a clip thing anymore) onto the velcro
7. positioned cd drive so clip in things sit perfectly.

8. stood back and went , nice
