I don't think i'm getting credit

On the stanford stats page it says I have 25 wu but I know I have at least 40 mayube 45. I uploaded three today and when I did upload them it said I had 20 now 25.

I noticed the same thing last night. Getting credit for some things but not all. I watched a WU get sent back 1/2 hour before the stats update and it didn't credit. I'm not too worried about it. I think the work is still getting there. As for the credit- It's probably happening to everybody so stats won't be skewed. It is nice to know that they are actually receiving the wu's and the credits are a kind of confirmation that the work wasn't wasted.

I think the page on the current server is not being updated on a regular basis. Keep an eye on your EM (Electron Microscope) record. If you close EM once in a while and restart, it should sync up with the Stanford record of your current WU's and let you know where your at.

Hopefully the Stats page will find it's way to a more reliable home.

There was some talk at a point about we aren't always getting credit for units from the .101 server... Dunno if it is correct, but I've noticed that I don't get all the credit I should get.

Yeah. It was specific to some proteins. I know that the alphaf wasn't getting credited near the end of its run. I think that all in all I lost about 30-40 wu credits but it's just a stat and Vijay said that they were getting the work back. Besides, even from a competition standpoint it didn't mean much. The alphaf's were giving out too much credit for the amount of time they took to fold anyway. Not sure which one it is this time since I only caught it the one time and I turned in 2 or 3 during that 3 hour period.

2> Is the stats page you are looking at showing credit being given to other folders?
3> Have you tried to reinstall the client or perhaps start over with a new name?

I know these seem like dumb questions but simpler things are sometimes overlooked by the best.

yeah I'm looking at the correct name, it gives me credit for some but not all WU.

I think I know what the problem is it may be that

I have 3 clients installed on my computer. when I'm on my computer i only run 1 client, when I'm away or asleep I run all three. I Upload my finished wu's all at the same time. perhaps something gets messed up when I do that :confused: when I have more than 1 finised wu I'll upload one at a time, I'll try that and see if it works.

I'm getting discourged because thats 25 wu not creditted, sure its not alot but thats a day and a half of work for my duron. oh well I'll try this a few more times but if it doesn't work I'll just fold whenever my computers on and not 24/7

Hmmm.... if all your clients are folding under exactly the same name, all have separate directories and each is running with the -local switch, uploading all at once shouldn't be a problem as long as they were all DL'd and returned within the 48-72 hr time limit.

I guess #2 was a little vague. I'm getting at the fact that the stats page doesn't always update regularly. I was wondering if you're seeing other stats change but not your own or if none of the stats are changing. Silly question now that I think about it.

I know at one point I was losing units only to find out I had two clients running on one of my dual machines under a slightly different name. The team got credit but my personal stats are about 400 units short. Ouch!

ULing each unit separately is certainly worth a shot. If that works maybe you could have each client autodial while you're away/asleep. And if only one client is getting counted, well then one client running 24/7 is better than none ... or three.

Don't fool yourself. 25 units is a lot of work to miss. :mad: We're folding as a team here and though I do take a little pride being in 2nd place ;) (enjoying it while it lasts) every lost unit hurts the whole team.

If you're uploading them at the same time it could be that the server is rejecting it or that the stats system is getting 'confused'. It shouldn't because the client ID's should be unique but they have had problems in the past with the stats and a lot depends on the db that they're using. Some db's just don't scale properly and are easy to corrupt.

well just checked the stats again and it updated my last wu. although I was at 98% on a wu and it said the files were corupted or something like that and had to delete them and start over :( well I deleted the other clients cuz it was a headache, well I'll just fold on :)

ok update again, I installed another client, this time it has a diff. id # than my other consol. when I had 3 consols they all had the same id #. do you think this is the problem, that they had the same id number?

I;d say that it was almost definitely the problem. It was confusing the server and it should have only been crediting you if the last wu you received was the first to have been sent back if that makes any sense. The server would have probably given the other proteins out to someone else.

good well i hope I fixed the problem, loosing all those wu is such a waste.

No, I don't think EM sees anything other than the total from the stanford stats site, so it does not show right away. Be patient all of a sudden they will show up. Are you folding under this name?

no thats not me, i put my old nickname; pauldogg. I'm glad to report that i just uploaded 2 finished wu and both got credit, so the problem was the id #'s after all :)

oh great, once again i'm not getting credit, i don't know whats wrong. although i have a question:

when i open em the progress bar quickly goes from 1 to 100% and repeats intself over and over, what gives?

also, it says on the stats page it says it take me 15265 hours per wu??

I think the not getting credit is a server problem this time. A lot of people reported a problem receiving credit with server 99 which was giving out bbalphaua's.
It wasn't just here. Found it at DSL Reports and at the FAH group too. That may explain why all of the teams stats showed such a large decrease at different periods over the past couple of days even when the servers were up.
