I'm not sure if this exactly fits here but here goes. I'm in the market for a laptop priced around $1,000. I can go a little more if it's worth it. I saw this nice laptop at HP that I planned on buying but didn't have the funds at the moment. When I wanted to order it guess what? HP phased it out with newer models. That ticked me off. So now I'm out in space without a clue on what to buy. I want a good performing CPU in multimedia. I've seen the Pentium M but I don't know anything on them. Any suggestions or comments on certain companies and models to go with?

It's hard to score a centrino laptop below $1000 these days, but the extra money is well worth it, your safest bet is dell, go to their site and sign for email subscription, sign in multiple email accounts in both home and small business sections, in a few weeks dell will start sending you coupons, you can also purchase a coupon from ebay or other forums if you can't wait. Now all you need to do is to wait for a sweet deal to come by, just visit their site often, good luck
