well after a ton of over-asked questions, i've watered down my choices to:
Any 1 of these for $170 shipped:
OCZ Premier Series 2x512MB PC3200 - Retail
Buffalo 2x512MB PC3200 w/micron - OEM
Crucial 2x512MB PC3200 w/micron - OEM
ALL Non-Parity, Unbuffered, None ECC, w/ lifetime warranty and all rated 2.5
which is the most favorable?

almost forgot all rated at 2.5
OCZ makes great ram for overclocking, and since you don't seem your going to OC then my vote goes to Crucial.

Yeah it's pretty good stuff... but I'd go with the crucial... never had a bad O/C with crucial... My sister's PC2100 does 185 FSB.
Crucial 2x512MB PC3200 w/micron - OEM or the OCZ Premier Series 2x512MB PC3200 - Retail i heard buffla ram is pretty bad defintely dont get that.
They're all exactly the same thing, is the funny part. All should use the same Micron IC's. Pick whatever's cheaper.
