My comp in my sig will not stay booted longer than lets say 1 minute. I just got it back from RMA repair 2 nights ago and after 45 minutes it completely powered off and wouldnt let me power it back on unless i unplugged the cord in the back and plugged it back in. I contacted the ppl who built my comp (ABSpc) and they said it might be the power supply so their sending a new one...Although this MAY be true they did replace my mobo so you never know what went wrong..anyways what im asking is do you guys definitely think its the PSU? Its a Allied 300w (AL-A300ATX) piece of crap, but it did power my system for 5 months..Im not sure and im really ****ed that i havent been able to use my comp in over 2 weeks. I didnt oc this at all, its at stock everything

Sounds like the psu. It is either overheating, or shorting out, thats why you have to unplug it to get it back on. Next time it's on check it with your hand and see if it's hot. Do the same right after it shuts down. If it's not overheating, then check all of your power connections, to make sure that they are all in good condition, and connected properly.

Welcome to the forums!
5 months is exceptional for any Deer made PSU... whether it's the problem or not, a replacement is a good idea. They have ways of causing major headaches when they go.
You'll love that Fortron ;)

Allied is one of Deer's aliases - forgot to mention that. Long day ;)

Over at www.fatwallet.com, one person said that Allied made fine PSUs that were lightweight only because Allied knew how to optimize their designs. He also happened to sell computers equipped with them (he claimed zero failures).

Interesting... I still don't trust 'em ;)

After hearing all the horror stories revolving around this line of power supplies, I find that extremely hard to believe. With Fortrons dropping below even $30, what's the point of gimping out?
