Could someone please explain what I need to do to overclock my DDR-RAM and my FSB? Here is what I have:
AMD 1ghz overclocked to 1.2ghz (overclocked by changing multiplier)
Epox 8k7a motherboard
256meg of Crucial DDR-RAM CL 2
Any help would be greatly appriceated.
Hit delete key at power on & go into the bios and change the cpu clock in the frequency/voltage control section to a higher number.
Remember changing the fsb will increase the cpu speed so you might want to lower the multiplier if you think the result will be too much.
cpu multiplier x fsb =cpu speed.

Thank you very much. Ill look into it tonight when I get off work.:)
Your welcome,
I dont know your experience level but dont try to raise the fsb too fast go like 5mhz a time and run some games and stuff to make sure your stable before raising it more.
When you go over 150fsb it can get somewhat dangerous as your pci bus starts getting farther out of specification and it is possible your hard drive might start corrupting files.
Most 8k7a users find they need to raise the memory voltage to 2.7 or +.2 with the jumper on the board to go over 145fsb.

I've always used Intel processors and mobo's so im still sort of new to the overclocking thing. Its jsut not worth the 30 or so mhz with Intel to try an overclock. Once again thank your for your help!
I almost forgot,
With the 8k7a you need to change the 100/133 jumper to 133 if you go over 115fsb or your pci bus will run at 1/3 instead of 1/4.
