This really should be in the extreme modding topic but I thought it apllied more to cooling. Or rather the noise created by thoose outreageously lod delta fans.

I got the idea from remodeling my living room. While the living room was gutted I noticed everything was incredibly loud in there. The rain echoed off of everything. It was so much quieter befor but now it is bare and and loud.

Kind of like the inside of my computer with the MC462-A with the delta.

Today I went down to my local walmart and bought a matress pad (egg create foam) and double sided tape. All for abot $8. I bet you can guess where this is going.

I lined the inside of my case with the eggcrate and held it in place with the double sided tape.

I'm sure everyone has seen or heard of this befor. But I just can't get over what a difference it made. So much more quiet it is amazing. I highly recomend eveyone with a delta fan do the same. It has not raised my case temps at all (I was careful not to obstruct airflow but cover every other metal surface). And if you do not like it it's only held on with double sided tape and can be easily removed.

I did something similar but I used the audio foam (used in sound rooms/studios) Any serious music supply place will have this stuff.

I also found a company called PC power and cooling that makes a really quiet fan called the silencer (and it is).

This is great
but are u sure it doesn't affect the temp??
and where exactly to u mount it?

I have checked my temps and they are the same as befor. So it hasn't affected my temps.

I put it everywhere there was bare flat metal. On the door, on the underside of the top, on the bottom, on the right side everywhere that wasn't covered by motherboardand on the front and back being carful not to cover any ventalation holes.

I had expected this to raise my case temps a couple of degrees, but it didn't afect it at all.

It is still loud. But it is not annoying anymore and noticibly quieter than befor. Much quieter.
