Lately, I've been finding plenty of people who may want to help fold. It might be helpful to brainstorm some more things to say to help convince them to fold - this may come especially handy when talking to a system admin at a school, workplace, etc.
Some things I've come up with:
- good cause
- doesn't waste cpu cycles
- good burn-in for processors
Any other suggestions?
BTW, I believe I've talked a friend into folding for us.

there are many reasons to join. It doesn't hurt the CPU, it uses little energy as the HD is barely used, etc. etc. etc. I am commited for the cause.

Yea well edit that part to what ever you need it to be but I also think that F@H is working on cancer

ultimately, the folding project will come around to cancer probably. There are other things such as the Alzheimer protein that we ran that have to be done. F@H is still working some of the kinks out.

How about
- Get new friends (us in this forum)
- You get to compete
- You help the best site on the net
- If your computer helps find something special, your name will appear on the stanford F@H pages
- You won't get addicted (hmm??)
- Your life will be better
- Your dog/cat won't run away any more
- You get to hear the cool sound of loud computer fans at night when you are trying to sleep (Oh yeah, you REALLY DON'T get addicted, lol)
- If you have enough computers folding in one room, you won't have to worry about heating in the winter
Well, some of them are perhaps a tiny wee bit far out, but you get my point... :)
