Excessive heat?

How hot is too hot??

I'm running two sticks of 512mb Hynix D5 (Kingmax DDR500) in a KT880 board, and the RAM is borderline too hot to hold.

I even axed my warranty to throw some thermal interface material between the heatspreaders. I've never seen RAM get this hot. Any ideas?

well it sounds like your heat spreaders are hotter now because you put thermal paste between that and the chips, meaning the chips aren't as hot...so if anything, it's safer than b4..

i ALWAYS, leave the side of my comp open. with a BIG fan blowing on all the components.. it really helps especially with the frequencies and voltage we're puttin thru this stuff...
